The story behind Flex Design System
Flex Design System was created by veteran UX designer Ben Ellis.
Designed to be practical and extensible, it helps UX/UI designers rapidly ideate while maintaining visual consistency as projects scale.
Built from scratch, every layer, component, property, variant, and design token was meticulously hand‑crafted.
Drawing on years of experience and inspired by best practices from Bootstrap, Carbon, Polaris, and Tailwind, Flex Design System also serves as a learning resource for UX and design system best practices.
In a world increasingly shaped by automation, why create yet another design system?
